In 2011, WhiStle Community Radio experienced a heightened interest in the area of ‘radio’, not only from our membership but from the outside as well. Our Town residents, politicians, volunteers, co-op students, expanded advertisers and sponsors have all demonstrated a renewed commitment to what community radio represents and offers to the community.

By following our plan for the future through the diversity of the shows we air, dedication, professionalism and flexibility, we have firmly established ourselves in the roots of the community. We have and will continue to remain a viable and financially sustainable not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization that strives to be the best that it possibly can.

Our application is proceeding through the various sections of the CRTC as a number of different components (signal strength/power, antenna + location, and signal area coverage) are involved.A file number has been assigned (2011-1475-1). Once the internal CRTC review has been completed and we have answered any of their questions, the file will be posted on the CRTC website (www.crtc.gc.ca) in the Broadcasting section for interested parties to comment on our application.
