All shows air just prior to every Stouffville Spirit Jr A Hockey Game. Tune in and learn about all the local talent from the people who instruct your kids to guests that speak about Stouffville’ s past history with the great game of Hockey.

Check us out on twitter @whistlehockeytalk and join in all the updates and interesting facts to get posted during the hockey season.

If you would like to be a guest on my show just give me an email hockeytalk@whistleradio.com or share your comments. We are very lucky in this town to have alot of talent as well as alot of history for the game of hockey.

In my first year doing interviews I had the privilege of interviewing Paulie Minton a hockey hero back in the late 40′s and early 50′s what a treat that was and the stories were incredible.

As well, our own Mayor Mr Wayne Emmerson was another great guest on Hockey Talk. He shared his hockey history with our listeners. Let’s not forget Don Easter whom is the WSMHA President along with many others who shared there views on the air.

So listen in and you might learn a thing or two about someone you know. Thanks for looking me up too: Mike Humphreys on Hockey Talk 102.7 CIWS Whistle Radio (Show Sponsored by Rec Sports)

Members and listeners enjoyed entertainment by The Stouffville Spirit Broadcast Team and The Marion Drexler Trio. Mayor Wayne Emmerson was in attendance as well and thanked us for allowing him to sit back and take in the evening. He even agreed to appear on our new current affairs program, Stouffville Now once per month to answer questions from the people of Stouffville, taking his Mayor in the Square idea to the next level.

Board members reported on a variety of exciting growth opportunities for WhiStle such as the procuring of several grants to grow the administrative support strength at the station. There was ample opportunity for mingling with the Board of Directors and many of the show hosts and it was great fun for people to learn what WhiStle Radio offers in the way of truly unique programming.

That was followed by over 10 years on air at CHYM-FM also in Kitchener. A move to Brampton’s CFNY-FM came in 1976 and it was there that “Daddy Cool’s Bluestime” became Ontario’s most popular blues radio program up until 1988. In 1989, the Toronto Blues Society presented Dave Booth with their prestigious “Blues with a Feeling” Award.
