A big congratulations goes out to Tara Donaghey and Mike Burns for their Honourable Mention for Nite Out in the Local Talent Development category for the NCRA Awards. The winner was a station in Kingston and the only other honourable mention was a station in Vancouver. Nite Out not only helps Local Talent be heard here in Stouffville, but some local talents have even gone on to more local gigs and special events. Nite Out has also featured some high profile artists such as: Marshall Dane, Leah Daniels, and Carl Dixon. Tara and Mike also have done interviews with Canadian talent, such as Bernard Robichaud, who plays Cyrus from the Trailer Park Boys. Nite Out has used their growing popularity to help fundraise for Charity. They had raised over $4,000 for disaster relief in Haiti when the show was first starting out, over $1,000 for Tsunami Disaster Relief for Japan, and when a local police officer was tragically killed in the line of duty, they raised over $4,000 for his children.
